Five Sounds, Before You Can Read Any of Them
Spanish has five vowel sounds and it never changes them, which is easier ear-training than English can offer a four-year-old — in English the letter a says four different things and nothing on the page warns you which. A grown-up says the sound, the child says it back and finds the letter. No reading, no writing, and nothing here needs a parent who speaks Spanish: every sound is hung on an English word printed beside it.
