Things to Make on a Wet Saturday

The projects that are not paper. A sock puppet with a mouth that really works, rocks that turn into a story, a jar with a world growing in it, tubes taped down a door for marbles to fall through. Everything comes out of the house or off the ground outside, nothing is sharper than scissors — and every one arrives with the bit nobody tells you, which is the difference between copying a picture and knowing why the thing works.
