Say the number out loud. Thirteen weeks is a season: start in the cold, finish in the warm. "Can I afford it?" and "Will I wait that long?" are different questions, and only the second is hard.

  1. There are only two ways to make the wait shorter. Write both of them down.
  2. The bike is $130 and you save $10 a week. Somebody offers you $4 a week for walking their dog. How many weeks now — and how many weeks did that save you?
  3. A $45 game and a $12 book, at $5 a week. Say how many weeks each, and then say something true about buying the book first.
  4. Somebody says "I will just get it now and pay it back later." Using the weeks, say what has actually changed and what has not.
